Collecting and Using Your Personal Information

Most actions you take on the Website relay certain information about you to the Company. We collect the categories of information below.

Contact Information

When you fill out a contact form, book a consultation, or subscribe to Our email list, We collect the information you provide so We can communicate with you. This may include your name, business name, phone number, and email address.

Consultation Booking Information

When you book a consultation, We collect the information you provide in the booking form, such as your business details and what you would like to discuss. We use this information to prepare for the call and determine whether Our services are a good fit for your business.

Social Media Information

If you choose to share a social media handle or business profile when booking a consultation, We may view your publicly available profile before the call to better understand your business. We may also follow or engage with your business's public accounts as part of a normal professional relationship. We do not collect or store data from your social media accounts beyond what you choose to share with Us. Your privacy settings for social media can be adjusted in the settings menu of your social media provider.

Website Usage Information

As you navigate the Website, your computer relays information to Us that We use to maintain the Website, improve user experience, and make decisions about Our content and services.

We use analytics tools that tell Us which pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you generally navigate the Website. These tools may collect information about your device, browser, internet connection, and IP address. Your IP address is a unique identifier that tells other computers the path to take to communicate with your device, and it can reveal your general location. We do not use this information to identify you personally.

Payment Information

We do not collect payment information through the Website. Clients pay for Our services through Anchor, Our proposal and billing platform, and its payment processor. Payment information you provide there is governed by Anchor's privacy policy.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your Contact Information and Consultation Booking Information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. We also retain information as required by law and as necessary to enforce legal agreements and resolve disputes.

Website usage information is retained by Our analytics and website providers according to their own retention settings.

Aside from information We keep for legal purposes, you can ask Us to delete the information We have collected about you. To do that, contact the Privacy Officer listed at the end of this Privacy Policy.

Cookies, Pixels, and Tracking Signals

A cookie is a small piece of information recorded by your web browser. Cookies allow your browser to recognize sites you have visited and remember things like preferences and login details. For more on cookies, see this guidance from the Federal Trade Commission.

A pixel, also known as a beacon or pixel tag, is a transparent image file that tells Us when something has been opened or clicked, such as an email We send.

Cookies and pixels may communicate to Us the web browser you use, whether you open an email We send, which links you click, and other technical information about your device. We use them to understand how visitors use the Website, measure email engagement, and ensure Our systems are working properly. We do not use them to run targeted advertising.

You can set your browser to reject cookies, but some parts of the Website may not function properly without them. Some browsers also send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no uniform standard for these signals, so the Website may not be able to read or respond to the one your browser sends. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. To learn more about Our services without using the Website, email Us at the address below.

Email Marketing

We use your email address respectfully, and We keep it confidential. We do not sell or share your email address in exchange for payment.

If you download a free resource, register for a webinar or training, or purchase a product from the Company, We will add you to Our email list. If you are in the European Union, We will add you only if you affirmatively consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Our emails comply with applicable laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act. Each email clearly identifies that it is from the Company and includes a way to unsubscribe from Our email list. Occasionally, the systems We rely on to remove you from Our list may fail. If you continue receiving unwanted emails, contact the Privacy Officer.

Unsubscribing removes you from Our routine newsletters and informational emails about resources We share. You may still receive emails related to services or products you have purchased from the Company.

Information Disclosure

We disclose your personal information only when necessary to provide services to you, or when necessary to work with third parties like lawyers or collection agencies to enforce this Privacy Policy or any other agreement between you and the Company. We may also disclose your information when We are legally required to do so. We do not sell your personal information.

If the Company is involved in a merger, sale, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other transfer of some or all of its assets or business, We may transfer your information to the successor in interest.

Securing Your Information

We make best efforts to protect your information using industry standards and reasonable methods. We rely on reputable third-party vendors to collect basic information through the Website.

If you become a client, We may collect additional information from you, including financial records, bank and credit card statements, payroll information, and other business data necessary for Us to provide bookkeeping, controllership, and CFO advisory services. This information is not collected through the Website. It is exchanged through Double, a secure client portal built for accounting firms, and is governed by Our Client Terms of Service.

Email is not a secure way to send sensitive information. Please do not email bank statements, tax documents, Social Security numbers, or other private financial information. Clients should upload these documents through Double instead. If you choose to send sensitive information by email, you do so at your own risk.

No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain any information you choose to provide until the earliest of: (a) your request that We delete it, (b) Our decision to stop using Our existing data providers, or (c) the Company's determination that the value of retaining the data is outweighed by the cost of retaining it.

You have the right to request access to the data the Company stores about you, and the right to rectify or erase your personal data. You have the right to seek restrictions on the processing of your data, to object to processing, and to the portability of your data. To the extent you provided consent to the Company's processing of your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred before your withdrawal. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority with jurisdiction over GDPR matters.

We require only the information reasonably needed to enter into a contract with you. We will not require your consent to unnecessary processing as a condition of entering into a contract with Us.

The Website and Our services are intended for business owners. The Company does not knowingly collect, online or offline, personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen.

If you are under 18, you may only use the Website with the permission of a parent or guardian, who must read this Privacy Policy. If you, your parent, or your guardian believe you have provided information through the Website, contact the Privacy Officer so it can be deleted. In some circumstances, the law may not require or permit Us to delete the information. We will make every effort to delete any information you have provided, but We cannot guarantee complete removal.
